I am a published poet, essayist and playwright, but I am new to screenplay writing. The Open Window, a selection in this year's festival, is my first screenplay. My second screenplay Ghettocyrano was a selection in the 2020 HHFF.
The play I co-authored, Sistas on Fire! A Newsical, was produced Off-Off Broadway in 2019.
I have been teaching African American Literature and Women's Studies for close to thirty years, and this is what informs all of my writing.
