Blackville : Why Our Stories Matter
After the death of George Floyd, super producer, director and storyteller Michael “Boogie’ Pickney called together the “new age talented tenth” - Gen X’ers who have found success by not being afraid to push the envelope when it comes to changing the narrative.  They formed Blackville, a community of creatives who are galvanizing for systematic change for BIPOC artists in film and media.  Join the founding members Michael Pinkney (UD Precious, Broad City), Caralene Robinson (Producer Emmy Nominated King Ester, ) Markuann Smith (creator, Godfather of Harlem) Tracey Baker-Simmons (creator, being Bobby Brown, Bobbi Kristina), and CR Capers, Executive Director, Founder and CEO of the Harlem Film House
